Food Security
Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.(FAO).
The four pillars:
Availability: The physical supply of food. Access: The ability to obtain food. Utilization: The body’s ability to use food. Stability: Consistent access over time.
Definition of Social Work
The International Federation of Social Workers (2013) in the Global Definition of social work defines it as
• A practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people.
• Principles of social justice, human rights,
• Collective responsibility and respect for diversities are central to social work.
